Belgian Beer Supply (BBS) is specialized in importation and distribution of Belgian beer brands in China. We assist Belgian breweries to manage their brands and distribution in China and help Chinese importer and distributor to find the right Belgian beer brands for their customers.

The founder Mr. Baudouin Snel was a pioneer in the Belgian beer importation as he managed the Vandergeeten Distribution group in China from 1997 till 2003 which was the first importer and agent for famous brand such as Hoegaarden, Duvel, Chimay, Rochefort and Lindemans.

Mr. Snel came to China in 1993 as the first expat of Carrefour group to open its first Hypermarket in Shanghai. Mr. Snel has a long experience in the Chinese beer and retail market over 30 years and he welcomes open collaboration with Belgian family breweries to develop and manage their brands distribution in China.

Main brands

Rochefort

The Trappist beer of Rochefort is a brown ale (high fermentation) brewed and bottled by the Trappist monks of the Abbey of Our Lady of Saint-Remy in Rochefort. The abbey was founded in 1230 and is part of the Order of the Cistercians of Strict Observance. There are only 6 Trappist breweries in Belgium including Rochefort, Chimay, Orval in Wallonia. In opposition to Abbey Beer who are brewed according to an Abbey old recipe but brewed by a non-religious brewery, Rochefort is still brewed by monks according to century old recipe and maintain the high-quality standards which ranked them as some of the best beer in the world.

Three types of beers are brewed at Rochefort: The Trappist Rochefort 6, 8 and 10 according to their relative alcohol content. The best known is the Rochefort 10 which is in fact 11 degrees of alcohol and present a sophisticated flavor to appreciate in a calm and relax environment after a long day work.

Killer

Killer brand beer is brewed by the Belgian family brewery of Silly. The brewery has been founded and managed by the same family for 5 generations and is more than 100 years old. The brewery has developed all traditional Belgian beer types such as abbey, double, wheat, sour and fruity beer.
The Killer beer brand is a new craft beer brand developed by the brewery aimed at younger customer in Belgium and abroad and its name come from a dog who is said to have protected the brewery during the last world war. It is based on Silly Wheat (white) beer to which several fruit juices are added during brewing process. The Pink Killer is the best seller made of wheat with pink grapefruit juice but there also an IPA called Green Killer and other fruity wheat beer such as Red (cherry) and Gold (peach) the new beer in the collection.

The Killer brand has been selling in China beer market since 2014 when craft and fruity beer become popular in China. It won the Gold Medal at the Asia Beer Challenge competition in 2020.

Martens

The Martens brewery has been operated by the same family for 8 Generations since 1758. It is proud of its long Belgian brewing tradition and offers extensive range of beer types from one of the most modern and high technology breweries in the world. It brews 3 million hectoliters per year and is one of the largest breweries in Belgium thanks to its large private label lager beer sold to many supermarkets in Europe.

Belgium is called “the country of beer”. Beer has been brewed in Belgium since the middle-ages and is part of Belgian Culture as Wine in France or Tea in China.
Belgium has a strong beer tradition thanks to its more than 200 breweries producing all types of beer from low temperature fermentation (lager) to spontaneous fermentation (lambiek) in the southeast of Brussels and many type of ale (high temperature fermentation) such as Strong Blonde like Duvel; wheat type like Hoeagaarden or Vedette White, Lambiek (Lindemans), Trappist such as Rochefort, abbey beer such as Leffe; Maredsous; Grimbergen etc. Therefore, its brewing culture and tradition has been recognized as a world heritage by UNESCO.
